FS2 Early Literacy Event - 06/02/2624 January 2026 (by David Lovatt (d.lovatt)) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
We can’t believe how quickly this half term has flown by! We are now just a couple of weeks away from our Early Literacy Parent Event, which will take place at 1:45pm on Friday 6th February, and we would love for you to join us.
This event is a lovely opportunity for you to come into school and learn more about how your child develops their reading and writing skills in FS2. During the session, you will be able to take part in a range of activities alongside your child, giving you a first-hand look at how we support early reading and writing in school.
We will also explain how writing skills begin long before children start holding a pencil, and how we carefully plan activities to develop both gross and fine motor skills. You may even get the chance to see some live phonics teaching and speak to staff about how phonics is taught to meet your child’s individual needs.
We hope this session will help you feel confident in understanding how children learn to read and write, and give you ideas for how you can support learning at home.
As always, access to the event will be via the Nursery gate, with entry from the Wells Lane (car park) side of the school only. The session will last for just over one hour and will begin at 1:45pm. Our parent events are always very popular, please sign up on the following link so we have an idea of how many adults will be attending:

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
