FOUNDATION STAGE DATES & INFORMATION

5 March 2024 (by Joanne Swift (j.swift))

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have a really busy time over the next 2 weeks in school with World Book Day, Mother’s Day event, school trips and parent / teacher reviews. Below you will find all of the information you need about these events including times and dates for FS1 and FS2 activities.

Thursday 7th March – World book day

  • Children to dress up as their favourite character from a story.

Friday 8th March – Mother’s Day event in foundation stage which any family member can attend:

  • FS1 Morning only children – 10:45am to 11:30am
  • FS2 (both classes) + Afternoon nursery children + 30 hours nursery children - 2:30pm to 3:15pm
  • Please note that access for this event is via the nursery gate only and only the gate from the Bondfield/Wells Lane side of school will be open

Monday 11th March – FS2 trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park

  • Children need to come to school prompt in their school uniform with a warm coat.
  • Shoes do not have to be school shoes and can be something more comfortable to walk a long distance in such as trainers (we will be on our feet for most of the day).
  • Children must have a backpack with them that they can carry independently, this is for their lunch and a drink to go into.
  • If the weather is rainy then we will be taking the wetsuits from school with us to ensure the children stay dry throughout the day.
  • This trip is definitely going ahead and the children should be back in time for normal home times.
  • We will not be going in the shop so the children do not need to bring any money with them.

Tuesday 12th March – FS1 trip to Cannon Hall Farm

  • Children need to come to school promptly in their school uniform with a warm coat and with the adult that is attending with them.
  • Shoes do not have to be school shoes and can be something more comfortable to walk a long distance in such as trainers (we will be on our feet for most of the day).
  • Children and adults will need to bring a packed lunch, there is an area for us to eat our own lunches. We will not be going to the café.
  • Although there are indoor areas, part of the farm is outside so please ensure you and your child are prepared in case there is wet weather.
  • Although parents are attending on this trip we will be staying together as a group with the Nursery Staff.
  • This trip is definitely going ahead and the children should be back in time for normal home times.
  • We will not be going in the shop so the children do not need to bring any money with them.

Tuesday 12th March + Wednesday 13th March – FS2 Parent / Teacher review meetings

  • Please make sure you have booked a time slot with your child’s class teacher before the end of this week (8th March)

Week beginning 18th March – FS1 Stay and play / Teacher review meetings

  • More information on this will follow later on this week.

Thank you for your support and as always if you have any questions please just ask a member of staff.
