The Imaginary Communities Project are working with local museums to run a creative project and are collaborating with Barnsley Museum. This is a chance for the Year 5 children to engage with the museum in a playful and imaginative way with our curriculum and learning aims. Drama is at the heart of the work, so the days will be fun and creative and will lead to some element of performance. 

As part of the Project, we would like to ask the children to take on their own research role. They will do this by asking grandparents and family members for their own memories and experiences of the miners strike. If children could record this information, in whatever way they would like, and bring it to their class teacher, then we would like to include it in the project itself. This will mean that the children can have their own input and personalise the experience further.
