MRS WAIN

31 January 2023 (by Joanne Swift (j.swift))

We are all struggling process the passing of Mrs Wain (nee Miss Jenkins).  We have been talking to the children about this both in assemblies and in class.  It is important that we share our grief with the children and let them know that we are all sad and that there are many ways to feel sad.

Inevitably, some children have been upset as this has prompted conversations not only about our dear friend, but also the loss of other important people in their lives.

Having conversations about death with a child can be difficult. You might be worried about how much they will understand or how they will react, but speaking honestly can help them to feel supported.  There’s lots of help and advise on the internet about how to talk to children of different ages.  Below are a couple of links to sites that you may find useful.
