Design and Technology
Vision
At Kings Oak Primary Learning Centre, we consider Design and Technology to be an inspiring, rigorous, and practical subject, which teaches children how to think, and intervene creatively to solve problems, both as individuals and as members of a team.
Through the study of Design and Technology, our pupils acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing, and art. We also make links to designs and designers throughout history, providing opportunities for children to critically reflect upon, evaluate and develop their own designs.
Through our Design and Technology curriculum, children will be inspired by engineers, designers, chefs, and architects to enable them to create a range of structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems, and food products with a real-life purpose.
