We are part of the Barnsley Healthy Schools Scheme for which we follow strict criteria in four key themes: Personal, Social and Health Education, Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Emotional Health and wellbeing.

We achieved our bronze and silver awards in January and July 2007, and having come this far we just had to go for gold! For the next two years, we continued to follow action plans and were scrutinised in further reviews and a final audit. We are proud to say we achieved our Gold award in June 2009 and even now, we are one of only four schools in Barnsley to achieve this.

Our healthy tuck shop runs every morning break time from Monday to Friday.

We sell fresh fruit such as bananas, apples, oranges, raisins and fruit infused water drinks at the very low price of 20p per item.  Ideally, we like this to be paid on a Monday morning, for example, £1.00 or £2.00 for the week but we accept payment on a daily basis too.

Money is exchanged for tuck tokens at registration which can then be used to purchase items from our tuck shop.

Foundation Stage Snacks

Healthy Snacks are provided to our Foundation Stage children from FS1 to FS2 at a cost of £1.00 per week.  All money raised is spent on resources and treats for our Foundation Children.

School milk

School milk is provided free of charge to all children in Foundation 1, Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2.

Drinks in School

Children should have a fresh bottle of water in school every day.  Water bottles can be purchased from the office at a cost of £1. These must be taken home each day to be cleaned and refilled. Facilities are available in school where children can refill them at lunchtime and playtime's.  Please do not fill water bottles with juice.
