BONDFIELD CLOSE / WELLS LANE
15 June 2022 (by Joanne Swift (j.swift))
We were disappointed to hear that Facebook had been used as a platform to complain and speculate about the message posted on our app yesterday about Police Patrols.
To clear up a couple of points;
It has not been Police Officer’s patrolling but Neighbourhood Wardens who work for the council but with the police.
It is not the residents on the street who have pushed for patrols, it is the school. We keep appealing to you to act responsibly and considerately as we are really concerned that someone may get seriously hurt while coming to or going from school. Cars are parking blocking the school gates, the turning circle and blocking the curbs and drives. It is just a matter of time before we will need to call for an ambulance to attend a child who could have sustained a serious injury. If the road is constantly blocked an ambulance cannot access our school. This may happen to your child. We do not want an empty chair in a classroom.
Please, if you can, walk to collect your children, or park a couple of streets away to avoid this congestion. All we are trying to do is keep everyone safe. We need you as a community to take collective responsibility.
May we also appeal to you not to use social media to attack our neighbours or to complain about issues involving school. We are available to talk to during school hours if you have any concerns.
As always, we know this is a small minority, but they are spoiling things for everyone.
Thank you to all our parents who are considerate of others.
