Meals in school and Free School Meal update8 January 2021 (by Joanne Swift (j.swift)) |
Next week our kitchen will be open and we will be offering a hot meal to any children attending school.
The hot meal offer will be the meal on the menu we would normally use. We will also serve jacket potatoes as an option for children which can be eaten with cheese or beans. These meals will be charged at £2.06 per day unless entitled to Free School Meals or Universal Free School Meals (Rec, Year 1 and Year 2). If your child does not want either of these options they should bring a packed lunch.
So, to recap, on Monday the choices are;
Chicken nuggets with potato wedges
Jacket with beans
Jacket with cheese
Packed lunch
This is the offer for next week. We do not know if this will continue in the longer term, but it is the current offer.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS; We are still awaiting confirmation about school meal vouchers for children eligible. At the moment, the government is talking about food hampers but we know that this is not practical in a lockdown. This is a priority for us as we understand the huge importance of sorting this out for our families. We are hoping on Monday to be able to give you more information.
Thank you
