Wow!! What a day! The Year 6 children are having a fantastic party today. The Year 6 team have put together an amazing day which we're sure the children have thoroughly enjoyed.

      We did want to send out some thank you messages to people who contributed to today's success, all providing their services free of charge;

Yorkshire Garden Parties set up a giant party gazebo with lights, music, and balloons. They also provided a big screen and projector! They are a small local company who only set up this year during lockdown offering hot tub hire, transparent party domes and movie night packages. Please see their advert attached and check them out on Facebook, Instagram and on their website:

Secondly to Dawn Dabbs - her cake making talents never seem to amaze us. Dawn kindly made all the Year 6 children and staff a beautiful giant cup cake - they not only looked great but also tasted delicious! Check out her some of her creations on Facebook @The Icing on the Cake

And finally, Arty Sparkles Face and Body Painting by Helen. Helen set up camp in the sweltering heat to provide glitter face paint to any children who wanted them. Please look and like Helen's page on Facebook to look at some of her fabulous work.

Some photos will follow on our Facebook page.

We've just about made it to the finish line as we plan our last day in school tomorrow for the children.

Please find attached a letter which contains important information ready for the return to school on Thursday 2nd September (Year 1 - Year 6). We ask that you read this carefully to update yourselves with revised procedures following the revision of our risk assessments as Covid restrictions have been lifted. The teacher list has been amended - thank you for spotting the deliberate mistake that was made to test you - haha!

May we take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy summer.

From Mrs Wilks and all the Kings Oak Staff

Healthy Holidays Programme - What's on Guide Summer 2021

The Summer Healthy Holiday Clubs start on Monday 26th July, with a range of clubs taking place across the borough throughout the school holidays.

Each club includes a range of activities for children to enjoy, with a healthy lunch provided. A ‘What’s On’ Guide is attached which provides details of all the different Healthy Holiday Clubs, and how you can book a place.

Children who receive benefit related free school meals are entitled to a free place at all the Healthy Holiday Clubs, and can book to attend a club every day between 26th July and 27th August (subject to availability) Holiday Clubs replace the Good Food Boxes which were provided during the Easter and May school holidays, when Covid restrictions limited holiday club activity.

Visit our website at for more information, and to keep up to date with new clubs and information about activities available during the Summer holidays.

We hope you and your children enjoy the Healthy Holiday Clubs and have a fantastic Summer break.

      Nursery/Foundation Stage 1 Bubble Closure

We have been made aware that a child who attended the morning nursery session yesterday has a confirmed positive case of coronavirus (COVID-19).

We have followed the national guidance and have identified that if your child attended nursery yesterday (Monday 12th July) your child has been in close contact with the individual. Your child must stay at home and self-isolate until midnight on Thursday 22nd July. Isolation means not leaving their home or garden and not seeing anyone who does not live with them. Children (if showing no symptoms) can return to their normal activities on Friday 23rd July.

Afternoon nursery will also be closed after today as they share the same staff who will now need to isolate. Afternoon children and any morning children who did not attend yesterday do not need to isolate but unfortunately cannot return to school now until after the summer break.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We are following the current guidance and procedures.

      Thank you for your support.
