Helllloooooooo Year 6!

4 more weeks left as a Year 6!! Can you believe it?

This week and next week's Literacy work is based around the rainforest! We would like you to produce something that displays the layers of the rainforest and tell us all about it.

We hope you're all having a lovely week in the sun! Once again, it's been really nice to see some of your faces in school this week and we look forward to seeing more of you soon!

Please remember to let us know what you're all up to!  We love hearing from you!

Wow! Another week has come and gone and a busy week it's been! It has been AMAZING to see so many of you back in school over the past couple of weeks and for those of you set to return on Monday, we cannot wait! Remember, for those of you who aren't coming back into school, if you ever need us we are just an email away at (though we're sure you know it by now) for absolutely anything!

This week's learning in Literacy and Topic is focused around Refugee Week and Maths is taken from the White Rose Maths Hub again.

Always remember: no matter what it is you are doing - you are important and you are amazing! Never forget that!

See you soon!

Home Learning  10.06.20 (The Wednesday Edition)

Hello again Year 6!

Hope you're all doing well and are either resting after a couple of days back at school, are looking forward to coming in tomorrow or are relaxed and ready for another week of home learning if you aren't in school this week. We have missed each and every one of you and it has been really nice to see some of your faces already this week in school!

So...home learning is going to function a bit differently for Year 6 from this week. As you know, some of you are back in school now and what we've decided to do is to upload the work that we are doing in class as home learning for those of you who aren't able to come in.

With us so far? Fab!

As some of you won't be coming back into school until Thursday, we've decided to upload home learning every Wednesday from now on so that we have chance to teach the first 2 lessons of each subject in class for those of you who are coming in without you seeing what's coming up.

This week, you have: 4 Maths sessions from White Rose Maths; a writing task; some PSHE work, which will help you with transition to secondary school and some Geography work based around World Oceans Day (last Monday).

As always, if you have any questions or need to get in touch about ANYTHING at all you can either send us an email to (remember to get permission first) or you can call school and we will ring you back ASAP.

Keep safe - we're looking forward to seeing more of you soon!

We look forward to seeing what you've all been getting up to! Email us (with permission) at:

Stay safe!

See you soon.

Helloooooooo  Year 6!

We just want to say a HUUUUUUUGE thank you to all of you who have been sending in some work for us to look at, voting for your favourite subject or sending an email to tell us what you've been up to this week!  It's been fab to hear from you all - remember, we are here any time you want to get in touch! Email us (with permission) at:

This week, we're doing Maths a little differently (all of the instructions are on the Maths slides) and we've also added in a PE game for you to have a go at too!

We're still really missing you and can't wait to see you when it's safe to do so. Until then, we're an email away if ever you want to speak to us!

See you soon!

Miss Keenan & Miss Clarke.

How are you keeping happy?

Home Learning- 11.05.20

Howdy folks!

We don't know if you know but... this week would have been SATS week.  Miss Clarke and I would just like to say how proud we are of you all.  We don't need to see a score on a piece of paper to know how wonderful you are all.  We hope that you had a good week last week and managed to do lots of fun activities especially for VE day.  I know we have enjoyed looking at everything we have been sent.

Please take care of yourselves. Make sure you are taking time to keep your mind healthy and doing things that you enjoy.  So, if you have any questions, work you want to go through or simply just want to tell us something get in touch (with your parent's permission) at or through our Y6 blog and we promise to get back to you.

Miss you and remember we are here to help.

We have honestly loved hearing from some of you over the past couple of weeks and want to encourage you all to get in touch - even if it's not anything to do with the home learning tasks that have been set for you. ESPECIALLY this week as we know a lot of you will be planning some incredibly exciting events for the VE day celebrations on Friday and we want to know what you're all up to

So, if you have any questions, work you want to go through or simply just want to tell us something get in touch (with your parent's permission) at or through our Y6 blog (link below) and we promise to get back to you.

Hello Year 6...

Below we have all of the learning for this week. For reading, there is an audio version of Miss Keenan reading the extract for the story. It is a large file so might take a short while to download so have patience with it if you choose to use it. We look forward to seeing any work that you have been doing either via the blog or email us to - remember to ask parents to help you with this and make sure you have permission to email.

You can also email/ blog us to ask for help with any of the learning.

Before you get on with the exciting learning from this week please answer the poll!

Super power!

How is the work?

Hello Year 6!

We hope you're all okay and are making the most of getting out in your gardens in this sunshine!

Some of you might be feeling worried about what's going on at the minute and that's okay! It's a big change! Remember to talk about how you're feeling and do the small things that make you feel happy.

During this time, we'll keep posting activities for you to have a go at. These are activities for you to try, only if you want to. If you want to share any ideas/work you have completed, ask your parents to head over to the Kings Oak Community page on Facebook - we'd love to see what you're all up to!

We have created a Year 6 blog for you to ask questions and keep us updated with how your learning is going. We will be on hand to help and support you as quick as we can. When you post to the blog it will not appear straight away as we have to approve it before it will show up so don't worry if you don't see it there straight after you have sent it.

See you soon!

Miss Keenan & Miss Clarke!

Hi Year 6!

We hope you've had a fab Easter break and have eaten lots of chocolate! We're missing you lots and are hoping to see you soon.

In the meantime, we're going to start setting you some work that will follow a similar pattern each week. You can download the lessons on here but if you are finding that difficult, ask your parents to give school a ring or email the office and somebody will be able to help you.

We know that some of the work can be a bit tricky so if you do have any questions, email the office who will pass your message on to us and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. We're also hoping to set up a blog on this page so that you can message us directly.

Keep emailing in what you're doing - we love hearing what you're all up to!

Miss Keenan & Miss Clarke!

"Keep washing your hands!"

We know that a lot of you have younger brothers, sisters or cousins who might be finding this all a bit confusing. So, we've uploaded a poem that we thought might help.

Have a read through the poem yourself and afterwards you could:

1) Illustrate the poem - this could be done by: editing the original PowerPoint; printing off the PowerPoint and turning it into a book or re-writing the poem in your neatest handwriting before drawing your illustrations.

2) Change some of the wording so that it fits your family better.

3) Write a poem to follow on from this one to describe all of the things you're going to do when we are no longer under lockdown - what will you be grateful for?

Could you be the next Joe Wicks?

We know many of you have been trying out the Joe Wicks exercises - well done to those of you who are giving it a go, they're not easy! We also know that there are many of you with sporting interests in and out of school (karate, dance, gymnastics, football and basketball - just to name a few). So, we wondered if you'd help us out with improving our skills in these sports by creating your own workout linked to a sport of your choice. Below, you'll find an example that you can download and use yourself or you could design your own!

Please ask your grown-ups to help you share your ideas by emailing them to the school email address:   or by posting them on the Kings Oak Community page on Facebook. We'd love to give your exercise routines a go and I'm sure your classmates will too!

You could even produce a, Joe Wicks style exercise video to show us how it's done!

Titanic Crossword

Each week we'll be adding a puzzle for you to have a go at to help you remember some of the facts from topics you have learnt about so far this year. Titanic was a favourite for a lot of us, so we thought we'd start there! Download the crossword, print it off and fill it in. Or if you want to do it on the computer using PowerPoint, click on the, "Review," tab at the top of the screen and then, "Start Inking."

Some of you might like to create your own crossword on a specialist subject of your choice. There are many websites for you to use to do this online but remember to check the site out with an adult first. If you do create a crossword, email them to the school address: (with permission from an adult) and we could post them here for your friends to try at home!
